Service Technicias

Job Summary:

Provides automotive services by performing inspections, repairs, maintenance and installations efficiently, safely and according to Ford’s quality and time standards. Complies with Ford and dealership’s safety and environmental programs and practices. Automotive services may include, but are not limited to drivability, suspensions, alignments, steering, heating and air conditioning, basic and ABS brakes and exhaust systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Promotes dealership by presenting professional image, positive attitude and clean work area.
  • Road tests vehicles to ensure repairs are completed properly.
  • Parks all customer vehicles in designated parking area.
  • Ensures all vehicles are locked and secured.
  • Suggests additional work that is needed to the Service Advisor or Technical Service Manager so the customer may be notified.
  • Completes service and repair assignments correctly, to pass quality inspections or test drives, document mileage after test drive.
  • Collects all necessary information before requesting parts (e.g. model year, etc.).
  • Maintains sufficient personally owned tools; keeps tools in good working order.
  • Notifies Technical Service Manager and Service Advisor if delays are expected.
  • Maintains cleanliness of the customer’s vehicle (Ensures seat cover, floor mats are placed in vehicle if not done so by Car Porter).
  • Submits all claims promptly.
  • Provides clear and legible record of service completed for both customer and dealership use.
  • Has an approachable style; fosters open communication through active listening.
  • Assists Service Advisors, if necessary, to explain completed repairs to a customer.
  • Assists other technicians when needed.
  • Effectively handles and implements changes in Service Department.
  • Listens to and supports new ideas and approaches; adapts to change quickly.
  • Maintains composure when faced with multiple demands.
  • Meets or exceeds flat rate time allowances.
  • Successfully performs overlapping tasks.
  • Prioritizes work to meet demands and customer needs.
  • Makes decisions regarding repair options; asks for assistance as necessary.
  • Completes repair orders within specified time frame and alerts appropriate personnel if delayed.
  • Takes necessary steps to minimize time spent waiting for parts.
  • Co-ordinates with Parts Department to ensure parts are available to complete repair.
  • Performs preventive maintenance, cleaning and repairs on dealership tools and equipment; ensures facility is clean and organized at all times.
  • Performs factory warranty repairs according to established procedures.
  • Follows all hazardous waste and OSHA safety regulations and company policies.
  • Utilizes Ford-provided technical assistance (e.g. Technical Support Systems Guide, Hotlines, OASIS, SBDS, other).
  • Stays up to date on the latest technical services through training, bulletins, campaigns, etc.
  • Reviews and evaluates service write-up to determine it additional information is necessary and what type of diagnosis is needed.
  • Uses computer to look up part availability and repair orders.
  • Uses manuals including diagrams as necessary to complete the repair order.
  • Properly disposes of used parts and returns unused parts and parts cores to the parts counter person immediately after repair completion.
  • Ensures proper time clocking off work orders.
  • Uses diagnostic to identify the symptoms of the problem, the conditions under which they occur, the OASIS symptom codes that are appropriate for the symptoms listed as well as how often the symptoms occur.
  • Completes warranty repair orders according to policy.
  • Returns special tools and reference materials to their designated locations.
  • Maintains a high level of personal appearance consistent with the standards set by the dealership.
  • Responsible to adhere to all procedures and training established within the Quality Management System as they apply to specific activities, processes and tasks.
  • Participates in department and dealership meetings.
  • Reports to management of any situation or condition that jeopardizes the safety, welfare or integrity of the dealership, its personnel or customers.
  • Adheres to company policies with respect to safety rules and regulations and ensures government legislated safety practices are followed, such as WHIMIS training.
  • Maintains a high level of knowledge through ongoing PTS training, meetings, Ford star broadcasts and self-study.
  • Performs other tasks as outlined by Fixed Operations Manager.

Job Qualifications:

  • High school degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Other certifications or licenses as required.
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license.
  • Must be able to drive standard transmission vehicles.
  • Certification preferred in one or more of the following areas:
  • Electric or Electronic Systems
  • Brakes
  • Heating and Air Conditioning
  • Suspension and Steering
  • Manual Drive Train and Axles
  • Automatic Transmission and Transaxle
  • Engine Performance
  • Engine Repair

Fast lube Attendants

Job Summary:

Provide express professional service, which includes basic vehicle maintenance such as oil and filter changes lubrication wiper blade and bulb replacement.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in work order write up when required
  • Greet customers with a friendly smile.
  • Follow oil change procedure alternating between upper and Lower Technician.
  • Change air/pollen filters as required or recommended by manufactures service schedule.
  • Perform QC550 service sheet as required
  • Inform Supervisor of any noted defects.
  • Assist in maintaining adequate inventory as required providing fast service.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment whilst following all Health and Safety procedures and using the correct personal protective equipment
  • Ensure vehicle kept clean of any grease or oil marks.
  • Wash and clean vehicles as directed by shop foreman(s) or fast lube supervisor.
  • Basic shops clean up as directed by shop foreman(s).
  • Assist in bringing vehicles out front for customer pick up as requested by advisor or cashier.
  • Maintains a high level of personal appearance consistent with the standards set by the dealership.
  • Responsible to adhere to all procedures and training established within the Quality Management System as they apply to specific activities, processes and tasks.
  • Participates in department and dealership meetings.
  • Reports to management of any situation or condition that jeopardizes the safety, welfare or integrity of the dealership, its personnel or customers.
  • Adheres to company policies with respect to safety rules and regulations and ensures government legislated safety practices are followed, such as WHIMIS training.
  • Maintains a high level of knowledge through ongoing PTS training, meetings, Ford Star broadcasts and self-study.

Sales Consultant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a self- motivated Salesperson who is able to learn quickly and start generating results immediately. The ideal candidate for this position will be an expert on the models we sell, deliver high quality customer service and become a consultant to each customer on finding the vehicle that aligns with their needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Meet and greet customers professionally and courteously
  • Follow the documented dealership sales process
  • Maintain a high level of customer service as measured by Ford’s customer viewpoint
  • Ensure their presentation meets the customer sales expectations as set out by Ford
  • Attend to incoming sales calls
  • Maintain a high level of production knowledge through ongoing PTS training, meetings, Ford certification and self-study.
  • Log all prospects with the sales managers in the desking office
  • Review prospect list at the beginning of each shift
  • Follow-up all prospects within a reasonable amount of time
  • Maintains a high level of personal appearance consistent with the standards set by the dealership
  • Reports to management of any situation or condition that jeopardizes the safety, welfare or integrity of the dealership, its personnel or customers
  • Adheres to company policies with respect to safety rules and regulations and ensures government legislated safety practices are followed, such as WHIMIS training
  • Contact all customers that have taken delivery of a vehicle within a reasonable amount of time to ensure they are completely satisfied
  • Complete all documentation and paperwork as required
  • Maintain a clean and organized work station
  • Assist in vehicles lock-up each evening after shift
  • Assist in vehicle relocation and snow removal as requested
  • Drive specialty vehicles into the shop when required
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by department managers
  • Responsible to adhere to all Procedures and Training established within the Quality Management System as they apply to specific activities, processes and tasks.

Job Qualifications:

  • OMVIC Sales Certification course
  • Grade 12 or equivalent experience
  • Valid Ontario Drivers License
  • Valid OMVIC Sales License
